What we do

Cipher UK specialises in the validation and building repair of Section 3 and complex or non-core Section 2 warranty claims.

Because we work with warranty providers such as NHBC and Premier Guarantee we understand policy wordings, requirements and interpretations to ensure that in the event of a claim being made we are best placed to establish liability and extent of cover.

Where a building repair needs to be completed we know what is required to satisfy your obligations to the warranty provider whilst controlling your costs at all times.

How we do it

We understand that managing building repairs, costs and customer care is difficult and our proposition is built around you and your customers’ requirements.

To do this we focus on three key areas; technical expertise, operational excellence and customer communication.

Technical Expertise

We have extensive knowledge and experience of insurance and warranty policy wording and their interpretation. We have excellent tecnhical staff able to carry out structural engineering and surveying, building project management services, CDM management and professional services. This enables us to:

  • identify non-valid claims at first reporting or first inspection stages
  • advise appropriately throughout the life of any claim presented to us
  • handle cash settlement, consequential loss and compensation claims
  • deal with the most complex and challenging of cases; in fact this is our core skill

We are equally adept at managing the repair stages. Our experienced project managers have a thorough knowledge of traditional and modern construction and repair methods and cover Building Regulation Requirements, British Standards Codes of Practice and NHBC standards.

Our extensive nationwide professional network consists of:

  • independent architects
  • engineers
  • surveyors
  • health and safety professionals
  • trades covering any and all requirements

This ensures that projects of any size and complexity are expertly managed and delivered.

Operational excellence

We operate a state of the art claims handling system called Pulse which gives us 24 hour live information on all claims and documentation associated with the claim.

This is open to our clients so that your customer service departments are able to get real-time status updates or MI at any time they wish, day or night.

In addition we operate Telephony IPECS 300 which means that all calls are recorded.

We have a bespoke 70 seat control centre with dedicated resources and experience in handling warranty and insurance claims. This ensures excellent response times which can be tailored to suit client and warranty providers’ specific Key Performance Targets.

Such systems enable us to effectively manage kitchen and bathroom installations, repair programmes and building tenders.

Customer communication

From first reporting to claim closure we offer the complete life cycle handling of warranty repairs.

All customer liaison is proactively handled, including homeowner and warranty provider calls, reports and sign-off. We can provide home owners and house builders with advice and services on party wall agreements, insurance claims management and property refurbishments.

What this means in practice is that residents’ needs and concerns are directly addressed either individually or via their association. The home owner is told what will happen, when and why, and is fully updated along the course of the claim. Where numbers dictate that a wider communication is required this is also addressed; in the past we have hired local halls to host residents of a large development to outline planned remedial works and a time-table.

With correct work planning and by using our IT systems to diarise activity and communication we ensure that the customer need not contact you as they are fully informed of progress.

Our experts and trades are used to working in people’s homes, not just construction sites, and are able to effect repairs in a considerate manner.
